My name is Hans Moenninghoff. Since 1989 I am elected as Head of the Directorate of Environmental Affairs of the City of Hannover, which is the capital of Lower Saxony in northern Germany. In 2005 the directorates of Economic Affairs and Environmental Affairs were combined and I am elected as Head of combined Directorate of Economic and Environmental Affairs until 2013 (by the way: I am the first to combine these two functions in a European major city).
Since 1997 I am also Deputy Chief Executive, in this function I deputise our Lord Mayor as Head of the city administration.
